The Croatian Marsoni team player, Bruno Boban, died on Saturday on the field during his team's match against the Slavonia team in the third division football league. According to video clips circulated by the media, a strong ball hit Boban's chest 15 minutes after playing, causing him to fall to the field and lose consciousness. Despite the first aid Bruno Boban received from the medical equipment that came to help him, he died after 40 minutes of attempts to revive his heart. Croatian media suggested that the cause of death was likely to be a heart rhythm disorder after a severe blow to the lungs, and perhaps a collapse in the blood vessels.
