Apple is planning to cut iPhone SE production plans for the next quarter by 20%, according to reports. Nikkei Asia has reported that the company will also be producing 10 million fewer AirPods than planned in 2022. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says he expects Apple to ship 15 to 20 million SEs in 2022. He previously estimated the company would ship between 25-30 million of their budget device in 2022. The reports cite lower-than-expected demand for the budget device as the reason for the reduced production. The reduced demand could be caused by several reasons, including the $30 increase in price over the older model. The option of the iPhone 13 Mini could also be reducing the interest in Apple’s budget model.
